Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:

• Diagnosis of Bipolar 1 Disorder;

• Hospitalized or in the process of being hospitalized for a manic or mixed episode

Exclusion Criteria:

• History of rapid cycling;

• History of hypersensitivity or adverse reaction to lithium
