Summary
Insulin resistance (IR) in men may be the underlying pathogenesis for metabolic abnormalities
and chronic hypospermatogenesis similar to women with polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD).
Infertile men with unexplained infertility and IR may benefit from treatment with metformin.
