Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:

- hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy

Exclusion Criteria:

- clinical or laboratory evidence of secondary hypertension

- heart failure

- ischemic heart disease

- valvular heart disease

- arrhythmias

- peripheral vascular disease

- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

- neurologic disorders

- diabetes mellitus

- renal dysfunction

- notable systemic disease
