Summary
The purpose of this prospective randomized controlled trial was to compare intensive insulin
therapy with a carbohydrate restrictive strategy in patients with acute ischemic stroke
evaluating the outcome through the Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended, hospital mortality and
NIHSS during the ICU stay.
