Summary
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so
they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. Combination
chemotherapy plus surgery may be an effective treatment for neuroblastoma.
PURPOSE: This phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy followed by
surgery works in treating young patients with neuroblastoma.
