Inclusion Criteria:

• Rheumatoid arthritis, according to the American College of Rheumatology criteria, with active disease despite current medications

• Other criteria also apply

Exclusion Criteria:

• Other major illnesses

• Past history of certain other disorders

• Certain prohibited medications
